New meetup for creatives challenging the traditional networking event

We’ve all been there, with our elevator pitch ready and business cards in hand. So many of us (and not just in the creative industry) have experienced some kind of networking event. There’s usually an agenda of some sort and a series of speakers ready to present. Dedicated time to mingle to try and win some new work and lots of instant coffee. These events, as traditional as they are, have their place in the professional world.

But times have changed.

As a society, we’ve faced arguably the most difficult few years of our lifetime. And many of us are still facing hardship or at the very least recovering from the pandemic. In the creative industry, a notoriously collaborative and interactive environment, we’ve been confined to back bedrooms and kitchen tables with countless video calls and no clear line between life and work. It’s no wonder the rise in freelancers has hit record highs.

As a brand studio, we collaborate with many creative specialists; photographers, illustrators, developers, animators – the list goes on. We understand the need for cross-discipline conversation and collaboration and want to help creatives build their network in a genuine and unpressured way.

So we started GOB!

GOB Liverpool is a creative industry meetup, where like-minded people can get together, share a pint and talk about… well… anything. Our aim is to keep the event as relaxed and informal as possible, but hey, if you want to bring your business cards you’re more than welcome to. Our first event was set in Chapters Of Us and GOB#2 will be hosted by Sub Rosa in Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle and is sponsored by the lovely folk at Gather LCR. If you fancy it, come on down on Thursday 9th June at 6:00 pm.

See you there!
